Does the library have any special collections? What is your policy for using them?
The library does have a special collection housed in the Phillips Rare Book Room and Annex. The collection consists of older, rare, fragile, books, manuscripts, photographs, statuary, and postcards as well as books written by or about the Sisters of Charity or about the College. These items do not circulate and must be used, with permission, in the rare book room itself.
Permission can be obtained in writing through the Library Director at least 48 hours in advance of need for College researchers and a week in advance for outside users. email@example.com. The topic of research or titles of interest should be included in correspondence.
